It came very close, close enough to be snapped by my cellphone camera.
We wonder what they find to eat apart from insects and other invertebrates in this man-made pond.
I've logged it on iNaturalistNZ https://inaturalist.nz/observations/968450 and see that there have been quite a few sightings of them in Porirua harbour and the Onepoto arm.
